What areas do you serve?

We currently offer in-home pet services across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, and nearby communities. A small travel fee of about $1/km (from our base at Yonge & Finch in North York) applies to cover travel booking. We will confirm any distance-based fee with you during booking.

What types of services do you offer?

Forpaws provides a full range of mobile pet care services, including:

  • In-home bathing: Bathing, brushing, and nail care for your pets in the comfort of your home.
  • Nail trimming & ear cleaning: Standalone nail clipping sessions and gentle ear cleaning to keep your pet healthy.
  • Drop-in pet care visits: Scheduled feeding visits, litter box or potty checks, playtime, and medication reminders when you’re away.
  • Special needs care: Customized care for senior, anxious, or special-needs pets – we adapt our approach to keep them comfortable and safe.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book directly through our website’s booking form or by messaging us (Instagram DM or via our contact form). Once we receive your request, we’ll follow up to confirm availability, discuss your pet’s needs, and get your address details. We’ll then schedule your appointment and send a confirmation with all the details.

Do I need to prepare anything before the visit?

We bring all the necessary grooming tools and supplies to your home. All you need to provide is:

  • A clean, well-lit space for the grooming (a bathroom or laundry room works great).
  • Access to warm water if a full bath is needed.
  • A couple of towels (optional – we can bring our own if you prefer).
    Don’t worry, we will guide you through any setup details during our confirmation call so you know exactly what to expect.

How long does a grooming session take?

The length of each session depends on your pet’s size, coat condition, and temperament. Most in-home grooming sessions last about 1.5 to 2.5 hours. We always allow extra time for pets that might need a gentler pace or breaks – your pet’s comfort is our priority.

Is it safe to groom my pet at home?

Absolutely. In-home grooming can actually reduce stress for many pets. Your pet avoids cages and stays in a familiar environment, with no exposure to other animals or noisy salon dryers. We use clean, sanitized equipment for each visit and follow strict hygiene protocols. Safety is our top concern, and we take every precaution to make home grooming as safe as in a salon (or even safer).

What if my pet is aggressive or extremely anxious?

We specialize in low-stress, gentle handling techniques. If your pet has behavioral challenges, let us know in advance. We may take extra time, use calming methods, or even split the bathing into shorter sessions across two visits if needed. Our goal is to ensure every pet feels as comfortable as possible – we never force a pet through a service if they are too distressed, but rather work gradually to earn their trust.

Do you bath cats as well as dogs?

Yes! We offer bathing services for both cats and dogs. Cat bathing (like brushing, dematting, and nail trims) is done with special care since our feline friends can be more sensitive. We adjust our approach based on each pet’s temperament – whether furry, feathered, or scaled, we’re happy to discuss bathing for other small pets too if needed

What’s your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We understand plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please try to give us at least 24 hours notice. This allows us to adjust our schedule. Cancellations with short notice (under 24 hours) may incur a small fee, since it may be difficult to fill your spot on short notice. Of course, we’ll handle emergencies and special situations with understanding – just keep us informed as early as you can.

Can I combine a bathing appointment with a feeding or check-in visit?

Yes, we can often accommodate multiple services in one visit. For example, if you’d like a drop-in care visit (for feeding, playtime, etc.) right after a bathing session, just let us know when booking. We’ll schedule enough time to take care of everything your pet needs during the single visit. This way, your pet can get a full spa treatment and their dinner (plus cuddles) all in one go!

Our pet-friendly furniture is designed to serve both you and your pet. This includes stylish home furniture pieces that double as pet beds or hideaways. For example, we offer a modern nightstand that also serves as a cozy cat house and storage table. We also have items like a paw-shaped coffee table with a matching stool that adds a fun touch to your living room. Each piece is created with both aesthetics and pet comfort in mind – meaning you get functional furniture that looks great in your home, while your furry friend gets a comfy space or a fun perch to enjoy.

Do the pet furniture items require assembly?

Most of our furniture items require minimal assembly. They come with all the necessary hardware and instructions included in the box. For instance, you may need to attach legs or panels with the provided tools (nothing too complicated). We ensure that assembly is straightforward – many pieces simply screw together, and no special skills are needed. If you ever have trouble, you can always reach out to us for tips, and we’ll be happy to help. (Bonus: Our products are packaged securely in reinforced boxes to arrive safely)
